Spring Smoothie Delight

Blogger duo Julia and Libby share their latest smoothie creation, designed exclusively for Spring Spa.

The cold and general dreariness of winter can leave us unmotivated and finding comfort in warm, hearty food. Extra coffees, wines or mid afternoon sweet treats may be sneaking their way into your routines a little too often and while there is certainly nothing wrong with a little indulgence, sometimes our bodies can be left feeling sluggish and an easy green smoothie is a great way to put a spring back into your step. Julia and Libby from JuliaandLibby.com created this delicious and easy recipe for Spring Spa to see us through chilly July with some extra nourishment.

Ingredients

  • 2x frozen bananas
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 5 kale leaves
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • 1 cup of coconut or almond milk
  • Cacao nibs

Method

Blend all the ingredients in a blender for one minute. Sprinkle with cacao nibs. 

If you don’t like eating your vegetables, you can simply add some leafy greens to your smoothie and drink them instead. Green smoothies provide a rich source of minerals thanks to the dark, leafy greens. They also provides the body with high levels of fibre, that allow your body to eliminate toxins which help to improve skin appearance.

This smoothie is perfect to have for breakfast or even after a workout. It is hydrating, delicious and filling.
